Trusted Local Tree Company for Tree Removal Service in Fair Oaks, GA

Tree Removal Service for Fair Oaks Yards With Older Trees

Fair Oaks sits just outside Marietta and Smyrna, next to Dobbins Air Reserve Base, and it was named for its mature native oaks. Many of those oaks, along with tall loblolly pines, now spread over roofs, driveways and power lines that came long after the trees took root. When one of them starts to fail, you need a tree removal service that can take it apart in a small yard without hitting the house next door.

Restoration Tree Care is a family-owned, insured tree company based in Cobb County. We provide tree removal service for homeowners and landlords, from one dead pine behind a carport to several trees on a corner lot. We give you a clear price up front, do the work with our own crew, and haul everything away when we’re done.

What Makes Removal Here Different

Many Fair Oaks lots are modest, and the houses sit close together. A big tree in the backyard is often 15 feet from your roof, 20 feet from your neighbor’s and right next to a chain link fence and an overhead service line. There’s rarely room to drop a big pine whole, so nearly every large removal here is done in sections, with limbs and trunk pieces lowered on ropes.

Access is the other challenge. Many backyards are reached through a narrow gate or a gap beside the driveway. We plan the job around that: where the wood comes down, how it gets out to the street and what equipment fits. When the trunk can’t be reached any other way, a crane may be the safest option.

Trees We See Most Often

Loblolly pines are the most common removal we do here. They grow fast and tall, and after a dry summer they’re open to pine bark beetles, which can kill a healthy pine within weeks. Water oaks and the well-established oaks the community is named for are reaching the age when heart rot sets in. Sweetgums and tulip poplars drop limbs in summer storms.

Signs a Tree May Need to Come Down

  • A pine turning brown or yellow from the top down
  • Small pitch tubes or sawdust on the bark, a common sign of beetles
  • A lean that’s new, or soil cracking and lifting on one side of the trunk
  • Mushrooms or soft, hollow wood at the base
  • Large dead limbs over the house, carport or driveway
  • Roots pushing up the driveway or the walk

Some of these problems can be handled with pruning, and our health evaluations will tell you which. If the tree can stay, we’ll say so.

How We Remove a Tree in a Tight Yard

  • Look at the tree in person. We check its health, lean and height, and measure how close it is to the house, fences, sheds and lines.
  • Plan the drop zone. We choose where each section will land and lay down protection for the lawn and beds where equipment has to cross.
  • Take it down in pieces. A climber removes limbs from the top down, and the crew lowers the heavy sections with rigging so nothing swings into the house.
  • Clean up. We chip the brush, haul the wood and rake the yard. If you want the stump gone, we grind it during the same visit.

Storm Damage and Emergency Tree Removal

The community gets the same summer thunderstorms as the rest of Cobb County, and soaked red clay doesn’t hold big pines well in high wind. If a pine has come down on your house, your car or the road in front of it, call us. We offer emergency response around the clock. Our first job is to take the weight off the structure and make the yard safe. If limbs are touching power lines, call Georgia Power or Cobb EMC first and stay clear until the utility has made the lines safe.

County Rules, Not City Rules

Fair Oaks isn’t an incorporated city, so there is no city tree ordinance. The property falls under Cobb County rules instead. As part of every tree removal service, we check what applies to your property before work begins. Fair Oaks homes use Smyrna or Marietta mailing addresses, but the county rules still apply.

More Than Removal

We’re a full tree service, and most customers here use us for more than one job. We offer:

We also work throughout the rest of Cobb County, including Marietta to the north. You can read what local homeowners say on our reviews page, and learn about our experienced crew.

Questions From Neighbors

My backyard is fenced and the gate is narrow. Can you still get a large tree out?

Usually, yes. We cut the tree into pieces small enough to carry or roll out through the gate. If that won’t work, we may need to remove a fence panel for the day and put it back, and we’ll tell you before we start.

A pine in my yard turned brown in a few weeks. What happened?

Fast browning, especially after a dry stretch, is often a sign of pine bark beetles. A beetle-killed pine dries out and gets brittle quickly, so it should come down soon. Removing it early can also help protect the pines around it.

Can tree roots damage the sewer line in an older house?

They can. Many older homes still have clay sewer pipes, and roots will grow into the joints. If you have repeated backups and a large tree near the line, a plumber can confirm it with a camera. Removing the tree and grinding the stump stops new root growth.

Can you grind the stump on the same day as the removal?

Yes. We grind the stump during the same appointment, right after the tree comes down, so there’s only one visit. Let us know when you ask for the estimate and we’ll include it in the price.

Should I remove a problem tree before I sell my house?

It often helps. A dead or leaning tree over the roof can show up in the buyer’s inspection and become a repair request. Taking care of it first gives you control over the cost and timing.

Restoration Tree Care went through the tops of every tree in our property. We have A LOT of trees and they didn’t miss one searching for dead limbs. I feel so much safer having my family out in our woods now. Their pricing is very reasonable! They are “my people” from now on!

They did a great job removing a big sweetgum and a pine tree from the backyard. The crew worked carefully around the house, and yard, dropped the trees safely, and kept everything under control. They really took their time on the large sections and tripple checking their cuts. Professional work, solid cleanup. Would use them again and recommend them to anyone. My neighbor is already using them!

Thomas and his team were extremely easy to work with. I think the whole process from introduction to job complete was right at a week. We had a few trees removed and a lot of trees trimmed. They were extremely cautious about our property and insuring that none of our outdoor furniture or orchard trees were damaged as they removed both limbs and trunks of surrounding trees.

It's not often that a single word speaks volumes but that is absolutely the case with the owner of Restoration Tree Care, Thomas. It's not I know a guy. It's I know the guy. My parents had to have four trees taken down in their backyard. A crane was brought in as two of the trunks had to be lifted over their house... And yes, it was one of those "eek" moments. Thomas tied off and sectioned the two largest trees personally. Even with the drizzle throughout the longer than anticipated day, Thomas and his crew were professional and honest from start to finish. When I asked my dad if he was satisfied with the work he told me "Yes, definitely! With the exception of the trees being gone, you can't even tell they were here!" The right crew, the right equipment, the right guy!! Thank you, Restoration Tree service for changing an "eek" moment to a "phew" moment!!
